1. As Ammon taught, he was building on beliefs that he and Lamoni shared.

2. The king must have been astonished when Ammon requested only that he release his brother Aaron and his associates from prison and that the king’s son Lamoni retain his kingdom.

(삼첫 21:13) 후에 암몬 왕 하눈은 다윗이 보낸 사절들의 수염 절반을 깎아서 그들에게 큰 모욕을 주었다. 그때에 다윗은 그 사절들에게 동정심을 나타내서 수염이 다시 충분히 자랄 때까지 예리코에 머물러 있으라고 말하였다.

5. 17 But Ammon stood forth and said unto him: Behold, thou shalt not slay thy son; nevertheless, it were abetter that he should fall than thee, for behold, he has brepented of his sins; but if thou shouldst fall at this time, in thine anger, thy soul could not be saved.

17 그러나 암몬이 나서서 그에게 이르되, 보소서, 당신 아들을 죽이지 마소서. 그러나 당신보다 그가 쓰러지는 것이 ᄀ나으리니, 이는 보소서, 그는 이미 자기의 죄를 ᄂ회개하였음이라. 그러나 이때 만일 당신이 노한 가운데 쓰러지면, 당신의 영혼은 구원받지 못하리이다.

6. 26 Nevertheless, they did find a land which had been peopled; yea, a land which was covered with dry abones; yea, a land which had been peopled and which had been destroyed; and they, having supposed it to be the land of Zarahemla, returned to the land of Nephi, having arrived in the borders of the land not many days before the bcoming of Ammon.

26 그럼에도 불구하고 그들은 사람들이 살았던 한 땅을 발견하였으니, 참으로 마른 ᄀ뼈들로 뒤덮인 땅이라. 참으로 그 곳은 사람들이 살았었던 땅이요 멸망을 당한 땅이더라. 이에 그들이 그것을 제이라헤믈라 땅이라 생각하고 니파이 땅으로 돌아오되, 암몬이 오기보다 여러 날 앞서지 아니하여 그 땅 경계에 도착하였더라.
