1. They are accursed children.

2. The Pharisees classed them as among the “accursed people.”

3. But this crowd that does not know the Law are accursed people.”

4. (Luke 22:41-44) Finally, Jesus was impaled as an accursed criminal.

8. The Law stated that a man hung upon a stake was “accursed of God.”

9. The Pharisees held that lowly people, who were not versed in the Law, were “accursed.”

10. The Pharisees and priests openly said: “This crowd that does not know the Law are accursed people.”

फरीसी और याजक खुलेआम कहते थे: “ये लोग जो कानून की रत्ती भर भी समझ नहीं रखते, शापित लोग हैं।”

11. Why, they regarded common folk like the dirt beneath their feet, even contemptuously referring to them as “accursed people.”

और तो और, वे आम इंसान को अपने पैरों की धूल समझते थे और “स्रापित” लोग कहकर उनकी बेइज़्ज़ती करते थे।

12. 8 And he that will acontend against the word of the Lord, let him be accursed; and he that shall bdeny these things, let him be accursed; for unto them will I show cno greater things, saith Jesus Christ; for I am he who speaketh.

13. They expressed their pious and contemptuous attitude by saying: “This crowd that does not know the Law are accursed people.”—John 7:49.

14. 9 As we have said before, I now say again, Whoever is declaring to you as good news something beyond what you accepted, let him be accursed.

9 मैं एक बार फिर वही बात कहता हूँ जो हमने अभी-अभी कही है, तुमने जो खुशखबरी स्वीकार की थी उसके नाम पर अगर कोई कुछ और सिखाता है तो वह शापित ठहरे।

15. They were well-versed in the large body of rabbinic traditions, and they looked down on the common people, who were less educated, viewing them as ignorant, contemptible, even accursed.

उन्हें रबीनी परंपराओं के बड़े संग्रह का अच्छा ज्ञान था, और वे आम लोगों को तुच्छ समझते थे, जो कम शिक्षित थे। फरीसी आम लोगों को अज्ञानी, घृणित, यहाँ तक कि श्रापित समझते थे।

16. + 13 Christ purchased us,+ releasing us+ from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse instead of us, because it is written: “Accursed is every man hung upon a stake.”

17. 8 However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond the good news we declared to you, let him be accursed.

8 लेकिन चाहे हम या स्वर्ग का कोई दूत भी, उस खुशखबरी के नाम पर जो हमने तुम्हें सुनायी थी, कोई और खुशखबरी सुनाए तो वह शापित ठहरे।

18. On another occasion, Jesus spoke of a judgment period when he would say to the wicked: “Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”

एक दूसरे मौके पर, यीशु ने उस समय का ज़िक्र किया जब वह सबका न्याय करेगा। तब वह दुष्टों से कहेगा: “हे स्रापित लोगो, मेरे साम्हने से उस अनन्त आग में चले जाओ, जो शैतान और उसके दूतों के लिये तैयार की गई है।”

19. Continuing his illustration, Jesus tells of such an “accursed” person: “But the tax collector standing at a distance was not willing even to raise his eyes heavenward, but kept beating his breast, saying, ‘O God, be gracious to me a sinner.’”

अपने दृष्टान्त को जारी रखते हुए, यीशु एक ऐसे ही “स्रापित” व्यक्ति के विषय में कहते हैं: “परन्तु चुंडी लेनेवाले ने दूर खड़े होकर, स्वर्ग की ओर आँखें उठाना भी न चाहा, बरन अपनी छाती पीट-पीटकर कहा, ‘हे परमेश्वर, मुझ पापी पर दया कर।’”

20. That the one who was condemned by the Great Sanhedrin on a charge of blasphemy and thereafter impaled on a torture stake like an accursed criminal could be the Messiah was thus completely alien, unacceptable, and repellent to their mentality.

इसलिए यह मानना उनके लिए एकदम नया, अस्वीकार्य और घृणित विचार था कि जिसे महासभा ने ईशनिंदा का दोषी ठहराकर एक श्रापित अपराधी की तरह यातना स्तंभ पर लटकाया, वही मसीहा है।

21. But we must recognize that we cannot do so without equally addressing the violence in our minds, a poison that has been spread by terror groups, harnessing the power of modern technology and social media platforms to infect our youth – those ideologies and beliefs that regard one’s own brother as a stranger, one’s own mother as accursed.

परंतु हमें यह जरूर स्वीकार करना चाहिए कि हम अपने मन में मौजूद हिंसा को समाप्त किए बगैर ऐसा नहीं कर सकते हैं। आतंकी गुटों द्वारा जो जहर फैलाया गया है, आधुनिक प्रौद्योगिकी सोशल मीडिया के प्लेटफार्मों का प्रयोग करके हमारे युवाओं को बहकाने के लिए – वे विचाराधाराएं और आस्थाएं जो अपने खुद के भाई को अजनबी मानती हैं, अपनी खुद की मां को अभिशप्त मानती हैं।
