Both sides agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the areas of New and Renewable energy, and in this context agreed to conclude a MoU on Cooperation in New and Renewable Energy; to cooperate in establishing three power plants of aggregate capacity of 15 MW using biomass fuel; and enhance cooperation in wind and solar energy sectors.

नवीन एवं नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा के क्षेत्रों में द्विपक्षीय सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए दोनों पक्ष सहमत हुए और इस संबंध में नवीन एवं नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा में सहयोग के बारे में एक समझौता ज्ञापन करने; बायोमास ईंधन पर आधारित 15 मेगावाट की कुल क्षमता के तीन विद्युत संयंत्रों की स्थापना में सहयोग करने; और पवन एवं सौर ऊर्जा के सेक्टरों में सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने पर भी सहमति हुई।

64. In this context, they emphasized the need for the project to generate cost-effective electricity; economical and competitive financing package from the French side; reliable, uninterrupted and continued access to guaranteed fuel supply for the lifetime of the Jaitapur Nuclear Power Plants; and collaboration on transfer of technology and cost-effective localization efforts of manufacturing in India.

इस संदर्भ में उन्होंने लागत प्रभावी बिजली उत्पन्न करने की परियोजना की आवश्यकता; फ्रांसीसी पक्ष से आर्थिक और प्रतिस्पर्धी वित्तपोषण पैकेज; जैतापुर परमाणु ऊर्जा संयंत्रों के जीवनकाल के लिए गारंटीकृत ईंधन आपूर्ति का विश्वसनीय, निर्बाध और निरंतर उपयोगऔर प्रौद्योगिकी के हस्तांतरण और भारत में विनिर्माण के लागत प्रभावी स्थानीयकरण प्रयासों पर सहयोगपर बल दिया।

65. In this context, India has effectively used the East Asia Summit, the premier forum at the level of Heads of State and Government for strategic dialogue and cooperation in the region on political, security and economic issues, to put forward its views on vital subjects such as maritime security, international terrorism, disaster management, access to clean energy, combating pandemics, etc.

इस संदर्भ में, भारत ने पूर्वी एशिया शिखर बैठक का कारगर ढंग से उपयोग किया है, जो राजनीतिक, सुरक्षा एवं आर्थिक मुद्दों पर इस क्षेत्र में सामरिक वार्ता एवं सहयोग के लिए शासनाध्यक्षों एवं राष्ट्राध्यक्षों के स्तर पर सर्वोच्च संस्था है तथा इसका उद्देश्य महत्वपूर्ण विषयों जैसे कि समुद्री सुरक्षा, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आतंकवाद, आपदा प्रबंधन, स्वच्छ ऊर्जा तक पहुंच, महामारियों से निपटना आदि पर अपने विचारों को प्रस्तुत करना है।
