2:1) और प्रेषित पौलुस ने कहा कि “ऐसा वक्त आएगा जब [लोग] खरी शिक्षा को बरदाश्त न कर सकेंगे, मगर अपनी ख्वाहिशों के मुताबिक अपने लिए ऐसे शिक्षक इकट्ठे करेंगे जो उनके कानों की खुजली मिटा सकें।”

9. Foretelling this, the apostle Paul said: “There will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled.” —2 Timothy 4:3.

इस बारे में प्रेरित पौलुस ने भविष्यवाणी की थी: “ऐसा समय आएगा, कि लोग खरा उपदेश न सह सकेंगे पर कानों की खुजली के कारण अपनी अभिलाषाओं के अनुसार अपने लिये बहुतेरे उपदेशक बटोर लेंगे।”—2 तीमुथियुस 4:3.

इसलिए कि ऐसा वक्त आएगा जब वे खरी शिक्षा को बरदाश्त न कर सकेंगे, मगर अपनी ख्वाहिशों के मुताबिक अपने लिए ऐसे शिक्षक इकट्ठे करेंगे जो उनके कानों की खुजली मिटा सकें। वे सच्चाई की तरफ तो अपने कान बंद कर लेंगे।”

11. In view of the irresponsible and destructive ways of many of today’s youths —smoking, drug and alcohol abuse, illicit sex, and other worldly pursuits, such as wild sports and debased music and entertainment— this is indeed timely advice for Christian youths who want to follow a healthful and satisfying way of life.

आज के अनेक युवाओं के ग़ैर-ज़िम्मेदार और विनाशक तौर तरीक़ों को देखते हुए—धूम्रपान, नशीले पदार्थों और शराब का दुष्प्रयोग, अनुचित सेक्स, और अन्य सांसारिक लक्ष्य, जैसे कि जंगली खेल-कूद और अपभ्रष्ट संगीत और मनोरंजन—यह सचमुच उन मसीही युवाओं के लिए समयोचित सलाह है जो एक स्वास्थ्यकर और संतोषजनक जीवन-शैली का अनुसरण करना चाहते हैं।
