1. ‘시온’ 곧 하나님의 하늘 조직의 지상의 대표자들은 깨어서 열정적인 활동을 하지 않으면 안 됩니다.

The representatives on earth of Zion, God’s heavenly organization, must awaken to zealous activity.

2. 기름부음받은 그리스도인들로 이루어진 회중은 현대의 “딸 시온”으로 묘사될 수 있습니다. “위에 있는 예루살렘”이 그들의 어머니이기 때문입니다.

The congregation of anointed Christians can be described as the modern-day “daughter of Zion,” since “Jerusalem above” is their mother.

3. 다윗 왕은, 해발 약 760미터 높이의 시온 산(예루살렘) 위에 장막을 치고 거룩한 궤를 그곳으로 가져왔을 때, 분명히 하나님의 지시대로 행하고 있었다.

When King David brought the sacred Ark to the tent he had pitched on Mount Zion (Jerusalem), some 2,500 feet [760 m] above sea level, he was evidently acting upon divine direction.

4. 보름달이 무안을 당하고, 작열하는 태양이 부끄러움을 당하였다. 만군의 여호와께서 시온 산과 예루살렘에서, 그분의 연로한 사람들 앞에서 영광스럽게 왕이 되셨기 때문이다.”—이사야 24:21-23.

And the full moon has become abashed, and the glowing sun has become ashamed, for Jehovah of armies has become king in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem and in front of his elderly men with glory.” —Isaiah 24:21-23.

5. 22 ‘유대’인 포로들은 여호와께서 ‘예루살렘’(‘시온’)을 그렇게도 추락시키셔서 그들의 하나님의 집인 전도 없고 여호와의 기름부음받은 왕으로서 ‘다윗’ 왕의 후손이 앉을 보좌도 없이 버리실 것인가를 이해할 수 없었읍니다.

22 The Jewish exiles would not be able to bring themselves to think that Jehovah would leave Jerusalem (Zion) so abased with no temple as the house of their God and with no royal throne on which a descendant of King David sat as Jehovah’s anointed king.
