1. Ministerial servants must be serious, not double-tongued, not heavy drinkers, nor greedy of dishonest gain, first tested as to fitness, free from accusation, presiding well over their households (3:8-10, 12, 13)

봉사의 종은 진지하고, 일구이언하지 않고, 많은 술에 빠지지 않고, 부정한 이득을 탐하지 않아야 하고, 적합한지 먼저 시험받아야 하며, 비난받을 일이 없어야 하고, 자기 집안을 훌륭하게 다스려야 한다 (3:8-10, 12, 13)
