1. In Ghana, the Volta River has been dammed by a hydroelectric generating station to supply an aluminum smelter and a plant for processing one of the world’s largest deposits of bauxite into alumina.

‘가나’에서는 한 곳의 ‘알루미늄’ 제련소와 이곳에 매장되어 있는 세계 굴지의 ‘보오크사이트’광을 ‘알루미나’로 가공처리하는 공장에 전력을 공급하기 위하여 ‘볼타’ 강에 ‘댐’을 축조하고 수력 발전소를 건설하였다.
