In all three one of the main themes that emerged was immense support for the India-US agreement in terms of what was agreed to yesterday to take forward to the WTO an understanding which India and the UShad reached to ensure that food security will be adequately covered even as the WTO moves on trade facilitation.

इन तीन द्विपक्षीय बैठकों में जो प्रमुख विषय उभर कर सामने आए उसमें से एक भारत-यूएस करार के लिए प्रचुर समर्थन था जो इस संबंध में था जिस पर कल डब्ल्यू टी ओ में इस समझ को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए सहमति थी जिस पर भारत और यूएस में यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सहमति बनी है कि जब डब्ल्यूटीओ व्यापार सुगमता पर आगे बढ़ेगा, तो खाद्य सुरक्षा को पर्याप्त रूप से शामिल किया जाएगा।

13. And India has supported Tajikistan’s accession to the WTO, and most recently on the 3rd of August, this month, a Protocol on Tajikistan’s accession was signed in Dushanbe.

भारत ने विश्व व्यापार संगठन में तजाकिस्तान को शामिल किए जाने का समर्थन किया और हाल ही में यानि 3 अगस्त को दुशानबे में तजाकिस्तान को शामिल किए जाने से सम्बद्ध प्रोटोकॉल पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

16. The second document which will be a Declaration will address broader areas of cooperation and our common views on regional and international issues including the fight against terrorism, climate change and WTO negotiations.

दूसरा दस्तावेज, जो घोषणा होगा, सहयोग के बृहत्तर क्षेत्रों तथा आतंकवाद के खिलाफ संघर्ष, जलवायु परिवर्तन एवं विश्व व्यापार संगठन वार्ता सहित क्षेत्रीय एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्दों पर हमारे साझे विचारों का जिक्र करेगा।

17. Therefore, as I have always been saying, India has been a founder member of the General Agreement on Trade and Tariff (GATT) which is the body which then finally got converted into WTO.

20. I can only say that at a time of rapid economic globalisation and the integration of the national economies in the global economic system, coupled with the current stalemate in the WTO negotiations, there is no alternative to accelerated regional economic cooperation.

मैं केवल यही कह सकता हूं कि तेजी से आर्थिक भूमंडलीकरण और विश्व व्यापार संगठन वार्ता में वर्तमान गतिरोध को देखते हुए वैश्विक अर्थव्यवस्था में राष्ट्रीय अर्थव्यवस्थाओं के एकीकरण के समय में क्षेत्रीय आर्थिक सहयोग में तेजी लाने का कोई विकल्प नहीं है ।
