(viii) Simplification of procedure: A number of steps have been taken to simplify passport application submission procedure such as acceptance of (a) registered rent agreement as proof of address, (b) self-attested documents replacing the requirement of attestation by gazetted officers, (c) Photo passbooks issued by Scheduled private sector Indian banks and Regional Rural banks also as proof of address and identity.

VIII. प्रक्रिया का सरलीकरणः पासपोर्ट जमा करने की प्रक्रिया को आसान बनाने के लिए (क) पते के सबूत के तौर पर पंजीकृत किराया करार, (ख) राजपत्रित अधिकारियों द्वारा सत्यापन की आवश्यकता की बजाय स्व-सत्यापित दस्तावेज, (ग) निजी क्षेत्र के अनुसूचित भारतीय बैंकों तथा क्षेत्रीय ग्रामीण बैंकों द्वारा जारी फोटोयुक्त पासबुकों को पते और पहचान के रूप में स्वीकार करने जैसे अनेक उपाय किए गए हैं।
