पत्थरों से बड़े और ढलानदार नाले बनाये गये थे जो घरों की नालियों से आनेवाले गंदे पानी और कूड़े-करकट को समुद्र के पास बने गहरे गड्ढों तक ले जाते थे। इन गड्ढों को साफ पानी के स्रोतों से बहुत दूर बनाया गया था।
