इस प्रकार जहां लाइनों की मील संख्या में कोई वृद्धि नहीं हुई , यातायात में अधिक वृद्धि का अर्थ था यात्री गाडियों में अस्वाभाविक रूप से अधिक भीड भाड , परिवहन में गंभीर प्रकार के अवरोध , माल लाने ले जाने में अत्यधिक विलंब और अनेक कठिनाइयां .

5. The project aims to add more vehicle capacity during peak hours, reduce peak hour overcrowding, shorten journey times, improve operational efficiency – namely through reduction in energy consumption, and strengthen institutional capacity.

उक्त परियोजना का उद्देश्य ऊर्जा की खपत में कमी करते हुए और संस्थागत क्षमता को मजबूत बनाकर सर्वाधिक भीड़ वाली अवधि में अधिक डिब्बों की व्यवस्था करना, इस दौरान भीड़ और यात्रा में लगने वाला समय कम करना, तथा परिचालन-कुशलता में सुधार करना है।
