67. It also gifted more than 10,400 MT of shelter material, 4 lakh cement bags, 95,000 agricultural starter packs and 500 tractors to revive agricultural activities in Northern Sri Lanka.

68. * The Joint Commission agreed that Indian companies would be encouraged to participate actively in future oil and gas exploration activities in Sri Lanka, including in the Cauvery and Mannar basins.

69. Following the increasing political tensions between India and Pakistan, ACC announced that Sri Lanka would be co-host whilst India's matches and knockout stage will be played on Lankan soil.

71. In August 2017, it was announced that the traditional Boxing Day Test at Kingsmead will not take place, as India's home series against Sri Lanka will not conclude until 24 December 2017.

अगस्त 2017 में, यह घोषणा की गई कि किंग्समेड में पारंपरिक बॉक्सिंग डे टेस्ट नहीं होगा, क्योंकि श्रीलंका के खिलाफ भारत की घरेलू श्रृंखला 24 दिसंबर 2017 तक समाप्त नहीं होगी।

72. A second incident took place on 22-23 January, 2011 where one Indian fisherman Mr. Jaikumar died in the waters between India and Sri Lanka by strangulation allegedly by Sri Lankan Navy personnel.

दूसरी घटना 22-23 जनवरी, 2011 को घटी जिसमें एक और भारतीय मछुआरे श्री जय कुमार की भारत और श्रीलंका के मध्य समुद्री क्षेत्र में कथित तौर पर श्रीलंकाई नौसेना द्वारा गला घोंटने से मौत हो गई थी।

73. India has also urged Sri Lankan Government to undertake a structured dialogue to evolve a political settlement acceptable to all communities in Sri Lanka to enable them to live in an atmosphere of peace and dignity.

भारत ने श्रीलंकाई सरकार से एक ऐसे ढांचागत संवाद का निर्माण करने का अनुरोध किया है जिसके आधार पर श्रीलंका के सभी समुदायों को स्वीकार्य राजनैतिक समाधान प्राप्त हो सके और श्रीलंका के लोग शांति और सम्मान के साथ रह सकें।

74. The Government of Tamil Nadu referred to the ongoing efforts to inform their fishermen about the need to observe security and safety parameters while engaging in fishing activities in the waters between India and Sri Lanka.

75. On Vesak, my hope is that India and Sri Lanka will work together to uphold the ideals of Lord Buddha and promote values of peace, accommodation, inclusiveness, and compassion in the policies and conduct of our governments.

76. The cessation of hostilities in Sri Lanka in May last year provides a historic opportunity to address all outstanding issues related to rehabilitation as well as a political settlement in a spirit of understanding and mutual accommodation.

पिछले वर्ष मई माह में श्रीलंका में सशस्त्र संघर्ष की समाप्ति से हमें समझबूझ एवं पारस्परिक सामंजस्य की भावना में पुनर्वास से जुड़े सभी मुद्दों का समाधान करने के साथ-साथ देश की समस्या का राजनैतिक समाधान प्राप्त करने का ऐतिहासिक अवसर मिला है।

77. Also I think that our recent abstention at the UNHRC vote in Geneva has given us an opening in terms of being able to work even more closely with the Government of Sri Lanka on certain issues.

इसके अलावा, मैं समझती हूँ कि जेनेवा में यू एन एच आर सी में मतदान के समय हाल में हमारी अनुपस्थिति की वजह से हम कतिपय मुद्दों पर श्रीलंका सरकार के साथ पहले से ही करीबी ढंग से काम करने में समर्थ होंगे।

78. * Therefore, I would like to inform this House that our objectives, as always, continue to remain the achievement of a future for the Tamil community in Sri Lanka that is marked by equality, dignity, justice and self-respect.

* इस प्रकार मैं इस सदन को यह सूचित करना चाहूंगा कि हमारा उद्देश्य सदैव की भांति श्रीलंका में तमिल समुदाय के लिए भविष्य का निर्माण करना है, जो समानता, गरिमा, न्याय तथा आत्मसम्मान पर आधारित हो।

79. That neglect was part of a deliberate strategy by Rajapaksa, who saw keeping Sri Lanka on a semi-war footing, and our Tamil citizens aggrieved and alienated, as the most effective way to maintain his iron-fisted rule.
