हाल ही में आई एम एफ अध्यक्ष ने कहा कि आज भारत वैश्विक अर्थव्यवस्था में कुछ ब्राइट स्पॉट में शामिल है।

7. * We are however concerned at the slow pace of quota and governance reforms in the IMF.

* तथापि, हमें अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष में कोटा एवं अभिशासन सुधारों की मंद गति की चिंता है।

10. The time-bound IMF quota implementation is absolutely necessary to raise the credibility, legitimacy and effectiveness of international financial institutions.

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वित्तीय संस्थाओं की विश्वसनीयता, वैधता एवं कारगरता बढ़ाने के लिए समयबद्ध आई एम एफ कोटा का कार्यान्वयन नितांत आवश्यक है।

28. I would suggest that these are again issues that should probably be handed to an expert crew either inside or outside the IMF so that whether each country is doing its bit - its adequacy, effectiveness - can be assessed by objective means.

इस साल के लिए विश्व बैंक एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष की भविष्यवाणी यह है कि भारत अपनी विकास दर को फिर से बहाल करेगा तथा वर्तमान वित्त वर्ष में हमारी जीडीपी विकास दर 8 प्रतिशत होने वाली है तथा निरपेक्ष मूल्य की दृष्टि से भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था 2015 के अंत तक 9 ट्रिलियन अमरीकी डालर तक पहुंचने वाली है।

32. The policy prescriptions of the IMF, be it the Structural Adjustment Programme or the so called "Washington Consensus” as coined by the economist John Williamson in 1989, with the focus, amongst others, on Fiscal policy discipline, Tax reform, Trade liberalization, and aggressive Deregulation often ended up exacerbating the situation in the affected borrowing countries.

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्राकोष के नीतिगत उपाय, चाहे ये ढांचागत समायोजन कार्यक्रम हों अथवा 1989 में अर्थशास्त्री जोन विलियंसन द्वारा निर्मित तथाकथित ''वाशिंगटन सर्वसम्मति'' अथवा राजकोषीय नीतिगत अनुशासन, कर सुधार, व्यापार उदारीकरण और आक्रामक अविनियमन इत्यादि सभी उपायों से ऋण लेने वाले प्रभावित देशों में स्थितियां और भी बदतर हुईं।

33. Arvind Panagariya: On the growth, as you mentioned, he would recognize that the growth has been tepid, even though the efforts made under auspices of G-20 have led to some acceleration but still the basic force of what has been going on in the global economy has actually led the IMF to revise the growth rate thrice.
