77. On-going processes of globalization of world economy and integration of markets have led to organized effort on the part of scientists, technologists and other members of the knowledge society to mobilize their efforts to accelerate the pace of development.

विश्व की अर्थव्यवस्था के भूमंडलीकरण की वर्तमान प्रक्रिया और बाजारों के एकीकरण ने विकास की गति तेज करने हेतु अपने प्रयासों को समन्वित करने के लिए वैज्ञानिकों, प्रौद्योगिकीविदों तथा ज्ञान समाज के अन्य सदस्यों की ओर से संगठित प्रयास का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया है।

78. As the countries in the ASEAN region strive for greater economic integration, the safety of sea lanes - critical for maritime trade and commerce, maritime security, and access to marine resources in accordance with accepted international norms, continues to assume greater significance.

चूंकि आसियान क्षेत्र के देश अधिक आर्थिक एकीकरण के लिए प्रयास कर रहे हैं, समुद्री लेनों की सुरक्षा – जो समुद्री व्यापार एवं वाणिज्य के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है, समुद्री सुरक्षा और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर स्वीकृत मानदंडों के अनुसरण में समुद्री संसाधनों तक पहुंच का अधिक महत्व बना हुआ है।

79. Domestic companies are benefited through FDI, by way of enhanced access to supplementary capital and state-of-art-technologies; exposure to global managerial practices and opportunities of integration into global markets resulting into increased production, export and employment generation of the country.

घरेलू कंपनियों को विदेशी प्रत्यक्ष निवेश से लाभ होता है क्योंकि उन्हें अनुपूरक पूंजी तथा अत्याधुनिक प्रौद्योगिकियाँ अधिक से अधिक सुलभ होती हैं; वे वैश्विक प्रबंधन पद्धतियों से परिचित होती हैं तथा वैश्विक बाजार से उन्हें जुड़ने का अवसर प्राप्त होता है जिसके परिणामस्वरूप उत्पादन तथा निर्यात में वृद्धि होती है और देश में रोज़गार के अवसर बढ़ते हैं।

80. I can only say that at a time of rapid economic globalisation and the integration of the national economies in the global economic system, coupled with the current stalemate in the WTO negotiations, there is no alternative to accelerated regional economic cooperation.

मैं केवल यही कह सकता हूं कि तेजी से आर्थिक भूमंडलीकरण और विश्व व्यापार संगठन वार्ता में वर्तमान गतिरोध को देखते हुए वैश्विक अर्थव्यवस्था में राष्ट्रीय अर्थव्यवस्थाओं के एकीकरण के समय में क्षेत्रीय आर्थिक सहयोग में तेजी लाने का कोई विकल्प नहीं है ।
