2. “Standing at a distance . . . [he] kept beating his breast, saying, ‘O God, be gracious to me a sinner.’”

उसने “दूर खड़े होकर . . . अपनी छाती पीट-पीटकर कहा; हे परमेश्वर मुझ पापी पर दया कर।”

3. 4:6) When his servants commit errors, Jehovah is “merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving-kindness and trueness.”

4. Those who loyally meet God’s requirements receive a gracious invitation from Jehovah: They can be guests in his “tent” —welcomed to worship him and granted free access to him in prayer. —Psalm 15:1-5.

जो लोग वफादारी से यहोवा के स्तरों पर चलते हैं, उन्हें वह प्यार से एक न्यौता देता है। वे उसके “तंबू” में मेहमान बन सकते हैं, यानी वे उसकी उपासना कर सकते हैं और किसी भी वक्त उससे प्रार्थना कर सकते हैं।—भजन 15:1-5.

5. Accordingly, man alone can reflect the qualities of our Creator, who identified himself as “Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving-kindness and truth.”—Exodus 34:6.

6. Continuing his illustration, Jesus tells of such an “accursed” person: “But the tax collector standing at a distance was not willing even to raise his eyes heavenward, but kept beating his breast, saying, ‘O God, be gracious to me a sinner.’”
