हम इस बात को महत्वपूर्ण मानते हैं कि समुद्री सुरक्षा एवं संरक्षा तथा आपदा प्रबंधन पर आई ओ आर ए का कार्य इन क्षेत्रों में आई ओ एन एस की संभावित पहलों के अनुरूप है तथा उनका पूरक है, जिसमें सिविलियन तथा गैर सिविलियन क्षेत्रों के साथ सूचना का आदान – प्रदान एवं अन्य गतिविधियां शामिल हैं।

Both sides reviewed bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further advance ties in a host of areas such as blue economy, adaptation-mitigation practices for climate change, disaster preparedness, health, education, renewable energy among others.

These disasters serve as a stark reminder of the need for instruments like the HFA, especially because the drivers of disaster risk – improper land use, non-existent or poorly implemented building codes, environmental degradation, poverty, climate change, and, most important, weak governance by inappropriate and insufficient institutions – still abound.
