66. In this manner God, when he purposed to demonstrate more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of his counsel, stepped in with an oath, in order that, through two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to the refuge may have strong encouragement to lay hold on the hope set before us.”

इसलिये जब परमेश्वर ने प्रतिज्ञा के वारिसों पर और भी साफ रीति से प्रगट करना चाहा, कि उसकी मनसा बदल नहीं सकती तो शपथ को बीच में लाया। ताकि दो बे-बदल बातों के द्वारा जिन के विषय में परमेश्वर का झूठा ठहरना अन्होना है, हमारा दृढ़ता से ढाढ़स बन्ध जाए, जो शरण लेने को इसलिये दौड़े हैं, कि उस आशा को जो साम्हने रखी हुई है प्राप्त करें।”

67. In criminal cases , an appeal to the Supreme Court shall lie if the High Court ( a ) has reversed an order of acquittal of an accused person and sentenced him to death , or ( b ) has withdrawn for trial before itself any case from any court subordinate to its authority and has in such trial convicted the accused person and sentenced him to death ( article 134 ; Ram Kumar v . State of M . P . , AIR 1975 SC 1026 ; Padda Narayana v . State of U . P . , AIR 1975 SC 1252 ) .

फौजदारी मामलों में अपील उच्चतम न्यायालय में हो सकेगी , यदि ( क ) उच्च न्यायालय ने किसी अभियुक्त की दोषमुक्ति के आदेश को उलट दिया है और उसको मृत्युदंड का आदेश दे दिया है , या ( ख ) अपने अधिकार के अधीन किसी न्यायालय से किसी मामले को विचारण के लिए अपने पास मंगा लिया है और ऐसे विचारण में अभियुक्त को सिद्धदोष ठहराया है और उसे मृत्युदंड का आदेश दे दिया है ( अनुच्छेद 134 ; रामकुमार बनाम मध्य प्रदेश राज्य , ए आई आर 1975 एस सी 1026 ; पड्डा नारायण बनाम उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य , ए आई आर 1975 एस सी 1252 ) .
