1. 8 “You must not accept a bribe, for the bribe blinds clear-sighted men and can distort the words of righteous men.

8 तुम रिश्वत न लेना क्योंकि रिश्वत समझ-बूझवाले इंसानों को भी अंधा कर देती है और नेक लोगों से भी झूठ बुलवाती है।

2. 23 Those who acquit the wicked for a bribe+

23 जो घूस खाकर दुष्ट को बरी कर देते हैं+

3. “You are not to accept a bribe, for the bribe blinds clear-sighted men and can distort the words of righteous men.” —Exodus 23:8.

“घूस न लेना, क्योंकि घूस देखने वालों को भी अन्धा कर देता, और धर्मियों की बातें पलट देता है।”—निर्गमन 23:8.

4. And he does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

न किसी निर्दोष को दोषी ठहराने के लिए रिश्वत लेता है।

5. 19 You must not pervert justice,+ show partiality,+ or accept a bribe, for the bribe blinds the eyes of the wise+ and distorts the words of the righteous.

19 तुम गलत फैसला सुनाकर अन्याय न करना,+ न किसी का पक्ष लेना+ और न ही किसी से रिश्वत लेना, क्योंकि रिश्वत एक बुद्धिमान इंसान को भी अंधा कर सकती है+ और एक नेक इंसान से भी झूठ बुलवा सकती है।

6. This was despite God’s explicit law: “You are not to accept a bribe, for the bribe blinds clear-sighted men and can distort the words of righteous men.”

यह परमेश्वर के सुस्पष्ट नियम के बावजूद हुआ: “घूस न लेना, क्योंकि घूस देखने वालों को भी अन्धा कर देता, और धर्मियों की बातें पलट देता है।”

7. If the silver pieces were shekels, the offer of 5,500 shekels was a huge bribe.

अगर ये चान्दी के टुकड़े शेकेल थे, तो 5,500 शेकेल एक मोटी रकम थी।

8. Kalpana’s lawyer said that he too came under pressure, and was even offered a bribe, which he refused.
