As stipulated in Section 172 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code, if an Indian court has reason to believe that a person against whom a warrant has been issued by it, has absconded or is concealing himself so that such warrant cannot be executed, such Court may publish a written proclamation requiring him to appear at a specific place and at a specified time not less than thirty days from the date of publishing such proclamation.

जैसा कि भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 172 तथा आपराधिक दण्ड प्रक्रिया संहिता की धारा 82 में निर्धारित किया गया है, यदि किसी भारतीय न्यायालय के पास यह मानने का आधार हो कि उनके द्वारा जिस व्यक्ति को वारंट जारी किया गया है, वह व्यक्ति उस वारंट के लागू होने से बचने के लिए फरार हो गया है अथवा अपने आप को छिपा रहा है,तो ऐसी स्थिति में न्यायालय एक लिखित प्रख्यापन जारी कर सकता है, जिसके अनुसार ऐसे प्रख्यापन के प्रकाशित होने के तीस दिनों के भीतर उस व्यक्ति को एक विशेष स्थान तथा एक विशेष समय पर उपस्थित होना अपेक्षित होता है।
