While the current budget/finance officer for UNMIS has ably supported the mission, the current arrangement has proven to be inadequate and untenable for a longer period, taking into account the broad scope and complexity of the operations of the mission and, based on the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, that the projected life span of UNMIS would be approximately six and a half years.
