Takes note of the positive announcement by the President of Algeria on the launch of the process of democratisation and on ensuring the better governance of that country, including the lifting of the state of emergency and a planned constitutional reform; underlines the need to accelerate these initiatives and calls for a strong commitment from the Algerian authorities to this process of reforms, which should be inclusive and open to civil society;
