1. The EU is also currently improving its analytical tools for democratisation strategies through democracy profiles in pilot cases, which map the political structures and processes and inform both EU programming and political dialogue.

Darüber hinaus ist die EU dabei, ihre Analyseinstrumente für Demokratisierungsstrategien mithilfe von Demokratieprofilen in Pilotfällen zu verbessern, die die politischen Strukturen und Prozesse abbilden und in die EU-Programmierung und den politischen Dialog einfließen.

2. Takes note of the positive announcement by the President of Algeria on the launch of the process of democratisation and on ensuring the better governance of that country, including the lifting of the state of emergency and a planned constitutional reform; underlines the need to accelerate these initiatives and calls for a strong commitment from the Algerian authorities to this process of reforms, which should be inclusive and open to civil society;

begrüßt die vielversprechenden Ankündigungen des Präsidenten von Algerien, den Demokratisierungsprozess einzuleiten und eine bessere Regierungsführung des Landes zu gewährleisten sowie den Ausnahmezustand aufzuheben und eine Verfassungsreform auf den Weg zu bringen; hebt hervor, dass die entsprechenden Initiativen schneller umgesetzt werden müssen, und fordert, dass die algerische Regierung sich für diesen Reformprozess, der integrativ sein muss und auch der Zivilgesellschaft offenstehen sollte, nachdrücklich einsetzt;
