1. 18 For YOU have not approached that which can be felt+ and which has been set aflame with fire,+ and a dark cloud and thick darkness and a tempest,+ 19 and the blare of a trumpet+ and the voice of words;+ on hearing which voice the people implored that no word should be added to them.

18 Car vous ne vous êtes pas approchés de ce qui est palpable+ et qui a été embrasé par le feu+, et d’un sombre nuage, et de ténèbres épaisses, et d’une tempête+, 19 et d’une sonnerie de trompette+, et d’une voix de paroles+ ; en entendant cette [voix], le peuple a supplié que pas une parole ne soit ajoutée pour eux+.
