2. The warning was given by Jotham that fire might come out of the bramble “and consume the cedars of Lebanon,” perhaps alluding to the ease with which the dry and leafless plant might catch fire during the hot summer months.

Jotham warnte davor, daß Feuer vom Dornstrauch ausgehen und ‘die Zedern des Libanon verzehren’ könnte. Das war möglicherweise eine Anspielung darauf, wie leicht die Pflanze in den heißen Sommermonaten, wenn sie dürr und kahl ist, Feuer fangen kann.
