1. These beautiful collections show how air photography has been used for several decades to provide a record of landscape that is continuously changing, to detect vestiges of archaeological sites invisible to the naked eye and as a management tool for the territory.

Diese beeindruckenden Sammlungen zeigen, wie Luftbildaufnahmen seit einigen Jahrzehnten nicht nur als Hilfsmittel für Geografie, Kartografie sowie Stadt- und Bauplanung genutzt werden, sondern auch dazu, die Erinnerung an eine sich ständig verändernde Landschaft zu erhalten und mit Hilfe der Luftbildarchäologie ansonsten unsichtbare Bodendenkmäler zu finden.

2. With the help of field walking, air photography and geophysical investigation it was possible to prove that the lowlands around the river-mouth of the Jantra were densely populated from the Neolithic till the late Middle Ages throughout. Even traces of palaeolithic occupation were found.

Darin werden die Ergebnisse der Grabungen von 1992 bis 2000 (Band 6, erscheint voraussichtlich 2006/2007) sowie die Resultate der zwischen 1997 und 2001 durchgeführten Geländeprospektionen und der damit in Zusammenhang stehenden Grabungen außerhalb des Kastells im Jahr 2002 (Band 7) vorgelegt werden.
