1. We are therefore advocating that the stipulation of testing requirements should look to keep test costs to an absolute minimum, although this must obviously not be misinterpreted as a qualitative watering down of testing requirements.

There is also widespread acknowledgement that the US must do more both at home and diplomatically to address global climate change; that the US must work with its European allies to prevent Afghanistan from slipping back into anarchy; and that the US must take the strongest possible stand against terrorism and those who would support it in any way. No major candidate is advocating anything remotely resembling isolationism.

Außerdem herrscht weitgehende Einigkeit darüber, dass die USA sowohl innenpolitisch als auch im diplomatischen Bereich mehr tun müssen, um sich des Klimawandels anzunehmen, dass sie mit ihren europäischen Verbündeten zusammenarbeiten müssen, um einen Rückfall Afghanistans in die Anarchie zu verhindern und dass Amerika so entschlossen wie möglich gegen den Terrorismus und diejenigen auftreten muss, die ihn in irgendeiner Art unterstützen. Keiner der wichtigsten Präsidentschaftskandidaten befürwortet etwas, das im Entferntesten mit Isolationismus zu tun hat.
