1. “너희가 서로 거짓말을 말라 옛 사람과 그 행위를 벗어 버리[라.]”

2. 데살로니가 전서 4:3은 “하나님의 뜻은 이것이니 ··· 곧 음란[음행, 공동번역]을 버리”라고 천명한다.

“This is what God wills,” states 1 Thessalonians 4:3, “that you abstain from fornication.”

3. 8 사도 ‘바울’은 그리스도인 형제들에게 “음란[음행]을 버리”라고 권고할 때, 그들이 그렇게 해야 할 강력한 이유를 다음과 같이 말하였읍니다.

8 When urging his Christian brothers to “abstain from fornication,” the apostle Paul gave strong reasons for their doing so, saying: “That no one go to the point of harming and encroach upon the rights of his brother in this matter, because Jehovah is one who exacts punishment for all these things . . .

4. 하지만, 성서는 모든 사람이 “음란[음행, 신세]을 버리”는 것이 하나님의 뜻이며, “음란[음행]하는 자나 우상 숭배하는 자나 간음하는 자나 탐색하는 자나 남색하는 자[들은] ··· 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못”할 것이라고 말한다.

The Bible, however, states that it is God’s will for all to “abstain from fornication” and that “neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men . . . will inherit God’s kingdom.”
