1. 예수께서는 단호히 “‘사단’아 물러가라.

Adamantly Jesus replied: “Go away, Satan!

2. 그러면 하나님께서 그렇게도 단호히 동성애를 반대하시는 이유는 무엇인가?

But why is God so adamantly opposed to it?

3. 진정한 사랑을 키우고 싶어하는 사람이라면 세상의 영을 단호히 물리쳐야 합니다.

If you want to grow in genuine love, you must firmly resist the spirit of the world.

4. 그 여자는 다른 사람을 사랑하고 있었기 때문에 그러한 접근을 단호히 거절하였습니다.

Because she was in love with another man, she resisted those advances.

5. 노부인은 두 주일 동안, 수혈을 받으라는 의사와 친족들의 압력을 단호히 물리쳤다.

For two weeks she held out against pressure from doctors and relatives to accept blood.

6. 이 두가지 경우는 여호와께서 생명의 신성함을 옹호하기로 단호히 결심하였음을 나타내는 사람들을 버리지 않으신다는 것을 잘 예시한다.

These two cases well illustrate that Jehovah does not abandon those who show that they are firmly determined to uphold the sanctity of life.

7. 증인들이 ‘스와질랜드’에서 1974년 10월에 종단으로 등록되었는데도, 이제까지 경찰은 형제들에게 지역 대회 허가를 내주기를 단호히 거부해 왔다.

Thus far, the police have adamantly refused to give the brothers such permission, even though they were registered as a religious organization in Swaziland in October of 1974.

8. 우리는 “모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못[한다]”는 것을 인정하지만, 한편으로는 회개와 용서가 죄처럼 실재한다고 단호히 선언하는 바입니다.

We acknowledge that “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23), but we also declare with firmness that repentance and forgiveness can be as real as sin.

9. “협회[여호와의 증인]의 대표자라고 하는 사람이 말을 걸어올 때, 어느 누구도 그들의 선전과는 아무런 관련을 맺지 말고 그들과의 토론으로 이끌어 들이기 위한 어떠한 제의도 단호히 거절하기를 진심으로 호소하는 바입니다.

“We appeal most earnestly to any person who may be accosted by representatives of the Society [Jehovah’s Witnesses] to have nothing to do with their propaganda and to refuse firmly to enter into any discussions with them.
