1. The premises of this proposal are the recognition of the multilingual reality of South Africa; and the establishment of the official status of the 11 South African languages (Afrikaans, English, siNdebele, sePedi, seSotho, siSwati, xiTsonga, Setswana, luVenda, siXhosa, and siZulu).
