1. Inorganic silts and very fine sands, rock flour, silty of Clayey fine sands or Clayey

2. It is supposed that montmorillonite was formed by early hydrothermal alteration of rock flour or fine glass particles.

3. These brilliantly blue lakes get their color from "rock flour", sediment that has been transported through the rivers to the lakes.

4. The colour is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis.

5. These pulverized minerals become sediment at the bottom of the lake, and some of the rock flour becomes suspended in the water column.
