1. Depolarisation is observed if the resting potential is increased above 110 mV by Anelectrotonic pulses

2. The resting potential prior to the action potential is typically −90mV, somewhat more negative than typical neurons.

3. Resting potential, height of action potential, maximum rate of rise of depolarization and effective and absolute refractory period were normal.

4. Hence, under these conditions, AC polarization caused the membrane potential to oscillate asymmetrically about the resting potential, preferring the depolarizing half-periods.

5. When the resting potential declines, the characteristic curve gets less steep. The amplitude decreases and the maximum of the amplitude characteristics goes to lower frequencies.
