1. The request was channelled through the Governor-General, Monck, to London and accepted by the Colonial Office.

2. In an effort to defend against Caffyn’s heterodox views on Christ’s nature, Monck wrote A Cure for the Cankering Error of the New Eutychians (1673)

3. Monck and his army marched into the City of London and forced the Rump Parliament to re-admit members of the Long Parliament who had been excluded in December 1648 during Pride's Purge.
