1. In the median aesthetes rhabdomeric visual cells are present; in the lateral ones they have become ciliary “lamellate cells” which are probably also active photoreceptors.

2. Of special interest is the work of Singer (1945), who described the Boletes as the Boletineae, which was composed of families including both poroid and lamellate fungi.

3. The overall shape of most insect Antennae is elongate and cylindrical, although elaborations into plumose, lamellate, or pectinate forms have arisen many times in different insect lineages.
