1. Anne Pratt, a 19th-century British writer, stated: “Instances are common in which the wanderer has lain down to sleep with a handful of these flowers beside him, and has awakened to find the skin of his cheek pained and irritated to a high degree by the acrid blossoms’ having lain near it.”

19세기에 살았던 영국의 저술가 앤 프랫은 “들에 나간 사람이 이 꽃 몇 송이가 피어 있는 곳 옆에서 누워 잠을 자고 일어나면 옆에 있던 자극성 있는 꽃 때문에 볼에 심한 통증과 따끔거리는 증상이 생긴 경우가 흔히 있었다”고 지적하였다.
