8 너는 뇌물을 받아서는 안 된다. 뇌물은 눈 밝은 사람의 눈을 멀게 하고, 의로운 사람의 말을 왜곡시킬 수 있다.

2. “You are not to accept a bribe, for the bribe blinds clear-sighted men and can distort the words of righteous men.” —Exodus 23:8.

“너는 뇌물을 받아서는 안 된다. 뇌물은 눈 밝은 사람을 눈멀게 하고, 의로운 사람의 말을 왜곡시킬 수 있기 때문이다.”—탈출 23:8.

3. “You are not to accept [nor pay] a bribe,” the Bible says, “for the bribe blinds clear-sighted men and can distort the words of righteous men.”

“너는 뇌물을 받지[혹은 주지] 말라.” 성서는 “뇌물은 밝은 자의 눈을 어둡게 하고 의로운 자의 말을 굽게 하느니라.”

4. This was despite God’s explicit law: “You are not to accept a bribe, for the bribe blinds clear-sighted men and can distort the words of righteous men.”

다음과 같은 명확한 하느님의 율법이 있었음에도 불구하고 그러하였다. “너는 뇌물을 받지 말라 뇌물은 밝은 자의 눈을 어둡게 하고 의로운 자의 말을 굽게 하느니라.”
