1. There can be a new beginning in Pakistan's relations with Bangladesh, too. And this will not be difficult to achieve if Pakistan's leadership accepts the historic realities, apologises for the genocide and rape committed on unarmed civilians by its troops in 1971, puts the perpetrators on trial, and addresses a few more outstanding issues.

पाकिस्तान के बंगलादेश के साथ सम्बंधों की भी नई शुरुआत हो सकती है और यह करना बहुत कठिन नही है, कि यदि पाकिस्तान ऐतिहासिक वास्तविकताओं को स्वीकार कर ले तथा 1971 में इसकी सैन्य टुकड़ियों द्वारा किये गये निहत्थे नागरिकों का नरसंहार एवं बलात्कार के लिए क्षमा-याचना कर ले और दोषियों पर मुकदमा चलाये तथा कुछ अन्य लम्बित मुद्दों को सुलझा दिया जाए।
