1. Valuable topsoil is washed from many slopes as a result of deforestation.

वन कटाई के परिणामस्वरूप अनेक ढलानों से बहुमूल्य ऊपरी मिट्टी बह गयी है।

2. (Isaiah 5:5) This was commonly done to prevent the washing away of vital topsoil.

(यशायाह 5:5) यह अकसर इसलिए किया जाता था ताकि मिट्टी की ऊपरी उपजाऊ परत जो पौधों के लिए बहुत ज़रूरी थी, पानी में बह न जाए।

3. Particularly in tropical environments, such products lead to the destruction of the topsoil and biodiversity loss (and the runoff is transported to the oceans, where it damages marine ecosystems).

विशेष रूप से उष्णकटिबंधीय वातावरणों में, इस तरह के उत्पादों के फलस्वरूप मृदा की ऊपरी परत को नुकसान पहुँचता है और जैव विविधता का भी नुकसान होता है (और अपवाह, महासागरों में चला जाता है जहाँ यह समुद्री पारिस्थितिकी प्रणालियों को क्षति पहुँचाता है)।

Here are some of the atrocities resulting: acid rain, global warming, holes in the ozone layer, garbage glut, toxic dumps, dangerous herbicides and pesticides, nuclear waste, oil spills, raw-sewage dumping, species endangerment, dead lakes, polluted groundwater, destroyed forests, polluted soil, lost topsoil, and smog causing damage to trees and crops as well as to human health.

इसके फलस्वरूप घटित होनेवाली कुछेक नृशंसताएँ यहाँ दी गयी हैं: “तेज़ाबी वर्षा, पृथ्वी ग्रह का तापन, ओज़ोन परत में छिद्र, कूड़े-कचरे का आधिक्य, विषैले पदार्थों की क्षेपण भूमियाँ, ख़तरनाक़ शाकनाशी और कीटनाशी ओषधि, परमाण्विक अपशिष्ट द्रव्य, तेल का अधिप्लाव, असंसाधित मलजल का ग़ैर-ज़िम्मेदार रूप से फेंका जाना, संकटापन्न प्राणी-जातियाँ, ऐसे प्रदूषित तालाब जिन में कोई प्राणी ज़िन्दा नहीं रह सकते, प्रदूषित भूमिगत पानी, विनष्ट जंगल, प्रदूषित मिट्टी, ऊपरी मिट्टी का खो जाना, और दरख़्तों तथा फ़सल और साथ ही मानव स्वास्थ्य को हानि पहुँचानेवाला धूम-कोहरा।
