वह उन्हें ऐसे बटोर लेगा, जैसे अभी-अभी काटी गयी फसल खलिहान में बटोरी जाती है।

फिर, किसान पूरे ढेर को बेलचे से तेज़ हवा में उछाल-उछालकर फटकता था, जिससे गेहूँ वहीं ज़मीन पर गिर जाते थे, जबकि तेज़ हवा भूसे को दूर उड़ा ले जाती थी।

उन्हें ऐसा “इससे पहले” करना है, “कि वह दिन भूसी की नाईं निकले,” जो हवा के एक झोंके के आने से तुरन्त उड़ जाती है, जब खलिहान में अन्न के दानों को हवा में फेंके जाते हैं।
