2. It is a matter of immense pride for all of us that 37 Indian scientists from nine Indian institutions participated in the international Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) Collaboration and proved this theory correct three years ago.

हम सभी के लिए यह भारी गर्व का विषय है कि नौ भारतीय संस्थानों से 37 भारतीय वैज्ञानिकों ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय लेजर इंटरफेरोमीटर ग्रेविएशनल वेव ऑब्सरवेटरी (लीगो) में भाग लिया और 3 वर्ष पहले इस सिद्धांत को सही साबित किया।

3. * They noted with satisfaction that the charter for the Joint Oversight Group (JOG) for the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) project in India has been signed and the final site for establishing the LIGO project in India identified.

* दोनों पक्षों ने भारत में लेसर इन्टरफेरोमीटर ग्रेवीटेशनल आब्जरेवटरी प्रोजेक्ट (LIGO) के लिए संयुक्त ओवरसाईट ग्रूप के लिए बनाए गयी नीति निर्देशों पर हस्ताक्षर किए जाने तथा भारत में (LIGO) प्रोजेक्ट को स्थापित करने में अंतिम भूमि चयन के कार्य चरण के प्रति संतुष्टि दर्शायी ।

4. * The leaders affirmed their nations’ mutual support in exploring the most fundamental principles of science as embodied in the arrangement reached to cooperate on building a Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) in India in the near future and welcomed the formation of the India-U.S.

* नेताओं ने विज्ञान के सबसे मौलिक सिद्धांतों की खोज में अपने देशों के आपसी सहयोग की बात कही। भविष्य में भारत में एक लेजर गुरुत्वीय तरंग वेधशाला (LIGO) के निर्माण पर सहयोग करने के लिए सहमति जताई।

After this, Prime Minister met scientists from the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (the LIGO project) which, as you know, has resulted in one of the most outstanding scientific breakthroughs in recent years by proving Gravitational Waves theory of Einstein correct. Some Indian scientists are now part of the LIGO project.

Through a partnership between the Indian Initiative in Gravitational Observations (IndIGO) and the U.S. Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory Laboratory and other institutes in India, both sides are working to build a world-class gravitational wave detector in India that will greatly enhance a network of detectors under construction in the United States, Europe, and Japan to study gravitational waves emanating from some of the most cataclysmic events in our universe – black holes, neutron stars, and supernovas.

इंडियन इनिसिएटिव इन ग्रेविटेशनल ऑब्जर्वेशंस (इंडआजीओ) और यूएस लेजर इंटरफैरोमीटर ग्रेविटेशनल – वेब ऑब्जर्वेटरी लैबोरेटरी और भारत के अन्य संस्थानों के बीच एक भागीदारी के माध्यम से दोनों पक्ष भारत में एक विश्व स्तर के ग्रेविटेशनल वेब डिटेक्टर के निर्माण हेतु कार्य कर रहे हैं जो यूएस, यूरोप और जापान में ब्रह्मांड स्तर पर घटित होने वाली अद्भुत घटनाओं जैसे ब्लैक होल न्यूट्रोन स्टार्स और सुपरनोवास से उत्सर्जित होने वाली गुरुत्वाकर्षण तरंगों का अध्ययन करने के लिए निर्माणाधीन डिटेक्टर के नेटवर्क के विस्तार में सहायक होगा।
