विशेष दूत ने ऐसे अनेक मुद्दे स्पष्ट किए जिन पर, दोनों देशों में असैनिक परमाणु ऊर्जा सहयोग के लिए अमेरिकी कांग्रेस द्वारा हाल में हाइड एक्ट पारित करने पर चिंता जतायी गई है ।

7. The President assured the Special Envoy of South Africa's support and complete understanding of India's quest for energy security and reiterated the stated position with respect to the matters before the IAEA Board as well as the Nuclear Suppliers Group(NSG).

राष्ट्रपति ने विशेष दूत को दक्षिण अफ्रीका के समर्थन और ऊर्जा सुरक्षा के लिए भारत की खोज के संबंध में पूर्ण समझ – बूझ का आश्वासन दिया और आईएईए बोर्ड एवं परमाणु आपूर्तिकर्ता समूह (एनएसजी) के समक्ष मामले के संबंध में अपनी सुविदित स्थिति दोहराई ।

The Special Envoy explained why the Indo-US nuclear deal and the subsequent adjustments in the NSG guidelines would help India meet its growing energy requirements and would also lead to the dismantling of a series of technology denial regimes to which India was subject to over the past three decades.

विशेष दूत ने स्पष्ट किया कि भारत-अमेरिका परमाणु समझौता तथा बाद में परमाणु आपूर्तिकर्ता समूह के दिशानिर्देशों में समायोजन, भारत को अपनी बढ़ती ऊर्जा आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने में सहायता करेगा तथा प्रौद्योगिकी प्रतिबंध व्यवस्था समाप्त होगी जो पिछले तीन दशकों से भारत पर लागू है ।
