आधिकारिक विकास सहायता, विदेशी प्रत्यक्ष निवेश तथा बाह्य पूंजी प्रवाह के अन्य स्वरूपों के जरिए क्षमता निर्माण, बाजार पहुंच की उपलब्धता और प्रौद्योगिकी अंतरण के आधार पर उनकी विशेष जरूरतों को पूरा किया जाना चाहिए।

18. The international community must also summon the necessary political will to find a concrete response to the urgent adaptation needs of the SIDS as part of the ongoing multilateral negotiations on climate change.

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय समुदाय को चाहिए कि वे जलवायु परिवर्तन पर चल रही बहुपक्षीय वार्ता के अंग के रूप में एस आई डी एस की अनुकूलन संबंधी तात्कालिक आवश्यकताओं के प्रति एक ठोस प्रत्युत्तर प्राप्त करने के लिए आवश्यक राजनीतिक इच्छा शक्ति का भी आह्वान करें।

19. The Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are experiencing major adverse effects of climate change and adaptation to adverse impacts of climate change and sea-level rise remains a major priority for them.

लघु द्वीप विकासशील राज्यों (एसआईडीएस) के ऊपर जलवायु परिवर्तन का अत्यंत प्रतिकूल प्रभाव पड़ रहा है और जलवायु परिवर्तन के इन प्रतिकूल प्रभावों के प्रति अनुकूलन और समुद्र के जल स्तर में वृद्धि अभी भी इनके लिए महत्वपूर्ण प्राथमिकता के विषय बने हुए हैं।

20. The Mauritius Strategy for Implementation of the Barbados Action Plan to strengthen and advance sustainable development in the SIDS has made limited progress in spite of the best efforts by these countries.

सिड्स में सतत विकास को सुदृढ़ और आगे बढ़ाने से संबद्ध बारबाडोस कार्ययोजना को कार्यान्वित करने के लिए मारीशस रणनीति में बहुत अधिक प्रगति नहीं हो पाई, जबकि इन देशों ने इस संबंध में अथक प्रयास किए।

21. Only an equitable and just international response to climate change based on the principles of equity and common but differentiated responsibilities can address the unique vulnerabilities of SIDS, by addressing their urgent adaptation needs and through provision by developed countries of new and additional financial and technological support.

जलवायु परिवर्तन के प्रति केवल साम्यपूर्ण एवं उचित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय प्रत्युत्तर जो समता एवं समान हित के सिद्धांतों पर परंतु विभेदीकृत जिम्मेदारियों पर आधारित हो, अनुकूलन की उनकी तात्कालिक आवश्यकताओं पर ध्यान देकर तथा विकसित देशों द्वारा नई एवं अतिरिक्त वित्तीय एवं प्रौद्योगिकीय सहायता के प्रावधान के माध्यम से एस आई डी एस की अनोखी कमजोरियों को दूर कर सकता है।
