सुंदरवरदपेरूमल मंदिर के पाषाण अधिष्ठान पर ईटों से बना वर्तमान त्रितल भवन इस अर्श में विशिष्ट है कि उसके तीनों तल क्रियाशील है जिनमें विष्णु के खडे हुए , बैठे हुए और लेटे हुए तीनों रूप गर्भगृहों में स्थापित हैं . इसके दो निचले तलों की तीन - दक्षिण , पश्चिम और उत्तर दिशाओं में इससे सटे हुए छोटे मंदिरों में विष्णु के छह अन्य प्रमुख रूप - सत्य , अच्युत , अनिरूद्ध , नरनारायण , नृसिंह और वराह स्थापित हैं . इस तरह इसमें वैखानस आगम के अनुरूप नौ रूप या नवमूर्ति सम्मिलित हैं .
