प्राकृतिक रूप से छोटी पूंछ वाले (बोबटेल) बॉक्सर्स की एक किस्म पाई जाती है जिसे संयुक्त राष्ट्र में पूंछ की डोकिंग पर रोक लगाये जाने की प्रत्याशा में विकसित किया गया; इसके लिए कई पीढ़ियों तक नियंत्रित संकरण कराया गया, इन कुत्तों को 1998 में केनल क्लब (UK) रजिस्ट्री में स्वीकृत कर लिया गया और आज बोबटेल लाइन के प्रतिनिधि दुनिया के कई देशों में पाए जाते हैं।
