* दोनों प्रधानमंत्रियों ने 1974 में संपन्नक भूमि सीमा करार के प्रोतोकॉल पर हस्ताैक्षर किए जाने पर गंभीर संतोष व्य7क्तम किया जिससे असीमांकित क्षेत्रों, प्रतिकूल कब्जेक वाले क्षेत्रों एवं एन्वों के आदान-प्रदान सहित भू-सीमा से जुड़े अन्यस लंबित मुद्दों के समाधान का मार्ग प्रशस्तं होगा।

72. (a) Following the closure of Tri Valley University in California, USA, on 19 January 2011 by the United States Government for alleged fraudulent practices, a number of Indian students were questioned and 18 of them were initially detained and subsequently released with radio-monitoring devices on their ankles, pending completion of investigations into their possible links with the irregularities.

(क) अमरीकी सरकार द्वारा 19 जनवरी, 2011 को कथित तौर पर धोखाधड़ी करने के कारण कैलिफोर्निया के ट्राई वैली विश्वविद्यालय को बंद कर दिये जाने के पश्चात कई भारतीय छात्रों से पूछताछ की गई थी और उनमें से जांच का सामना कर रहे 18 छात्रों को शुरू में गिरफ्तार किया गया था और बाद में अनियमितताओं से उन्हें जुड़े होने की संभावना के आधार पर जांच पूरी होने पर उनके टखनों पर रेडियो मॉनीटरिंग यंत्र लगा कर उन्हें रिहा कर दिया गया था।

73. In order to further improve and liberalize Police Verification procedure for passport issuance, the Ministry announced on 25 January, 2016 that normal passport applications of all first time applicants furnishing Aadhaar, Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC), Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card and an affidavit in the prescribed format that no criminal proceedings were pending against the applicant will be processed on Post-Police Verification basis, enabling faster issue of passport, without payment of any additional fees.

पासपोर्ट जारी करने हेतु पुलिस जांच प्रक्रिया में सुधार करने तथा इसे अधिक उदार बनाने के लिए मंत्रालय ने 25 जनवरी, 2016 को घोषणा की है कि पहली बार सामान्य पासपोर्ट हेतु आवेदन करने वाले जिन आवेदकों ने आधार कार्ड, मतदाता फोटो पहचानपत्र, स्थायी लेखा संख्या (पीएएन) कार्ड और निर्धारित प्रपत्र में यह शपथपत्र दिया हो कि उस आवेदक के विरुद्ध कोई भी आपराधिक कार्यवाही लंबित नहीं है, उनके आवेदन पर पुलिस द्वारा बाद में सत्यापन किए जाने के आधार पर कार्रवाई की जाएगी, जिससे पासपोर्ट जारी करने की प्रक्रिया में तेजी आएगी तथा इसके लिए कोई अतिरिक्त शुल्क नहीं लिया जाएगा।
