पंचायत में सभी महिलायें प्रतिनिधि मात्र हैं जो बैठकों में कभी भी भाग नहीं लेती हैं।

मेरे ध्यान में आया, केरल के दूर-सुदूर जंगलों में, जहाँ कोई रास्ता भी नहीं है, पूरे दिन भर पैदल चलने के बाद मुश्किल से उस गाँव पहुँचा जा सकता है, ऐसी एक जनजातीय पंचायत इडमालाकुडी, पहुँचना भी बड़ा मुश्किल है।
