73. It gives me great pleasure to deliver the inaugural address at this seminar on "India-Myanmar Relations: Strengthening Ties and Deepening Engagements", organized by the Global India Foundation in collaboration with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies.

74. The previous workshops held in Yangon, Myanmar in June 2013, Mae Sot, Thailand in March 2014 and Dhaka, Bangladesh in May 2014 have brought together the ADB Study Team and officials and experts from member states to refine the BTILS study conducted earlier.

पूर्व में जून, 2013 में यंगून, म्यांमा में, मार्च 2014 में मेई सोट, थाईलैंड में, तथा मई 2014 में ढाका, बांग्लादेश में आयोजित कार्यशालाओं में एशियाई विकास बैंक अध्ययन दल तथा सदस्य देशों के अधिकारी और विशेषज्ञ पूर्व में आयोजित बीटीआईएलएस अध्ययन को परिशुद्ध करने के लिए एकजुट हुए।

(a) & (b) Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is a proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between sixteen countries namely the 10 countries of ASEAN (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) and their 6 FTA partners (also known as AFP’s or ASEAN FTA Partners) namely India, Australia, China, Japan, Korea and New Zealand.

(क) और (ख) क्षेत्रीय व्यापक आर्थिक भागीदारी (आरसीईपी) 16 देशों के बीच एक प्रस्तावित मुक्त व्यापार करार (एफटीए) है जिसमें आसियान के 10 देश (ब्रुनेई, कंबोडिया, इंडोनेशिया, लाओ, मलेशिया, म्यामांर, फिलीपींस, सिंगापुर, थाईलैंड तथा वियतनाम) और उनके भारत, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, चीन, जापान, कोरिया तथा न्यूजीलैंड जैसे छह एफटीए सहभागी देश (जो एएफपी अथवा आसियान एफटीए भागीदार के नाम से जाने जाते हैं) शामिल हैं।

76. The recent meeting of the Joint Trade Committee, which Joint Secretary (XP) spoke about, did take into account the need to expand border trade and to bring it under some better organisation and to also see if Indian imports and exports from and to Myanmar can be facilitated through some exchange rate mechanisms that our banks can work on.

हाल में आयोजित सीमा व्यापार समिति की बैठक, जिसके बारे में संयुक्त सचिव (एक्सपी) ने बताया, में सीमावर्ती व्यापार का विस्तार किए जाने की आवश्यकता और इसे सुव्यवस्थित करने पर चर्चा हुई, ताकि भारतीय आयातों एवं निर्यातों को सुविधाजनक बनाया जा सके और साथ ही विनिमय दर संबंधी कोई तंत्र बनाया जाए जिस पर हमारे बैंक कार्य कर सकें। हम इस मुद्दे पर व्यापार कार्य कर रहे हैं।
