2. (a) the current status of the Mekong-Ganga Co-operation (MGC) along with the activities undertaken to strengthen ties between people of the two great river basins;

3. The Ministers urged closer collaboration between India and Mekong countries in trade promotion activities, customs inspection, sanitary and phyto-sanitary import clearance regulations to address trade bottlenecks and develop regional supply chains.

मंत्रियों ने व्यापार की बाधाओं को दूर करने और क्षेत्रीय आपूर्ति श्रृंखलाओं को विकसित करने के लिए व्यापार प्रचार गतिविधियों, सीमा शुल्क निरीक्षण, स्वच्छता और पादप-स्वच्छता आयात निकासी नियमों में भारत और मेकांग देशों के बीच घनिष्ठ सहयोग का आग्रह किया।

4. * Since its specific formulation in 1991, and I say specific because elements of India's Look East Policy could be found in our foreign policy even before but merely acquired a more deliberate character and formulation in keeping with the growing capacities of India and South East Asia at the time, India has been pursuing active constructive engagement with ASEAN, and South East Asia through its dialogue partnership with ASEAN and through fora such as ARF, the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical Cooperation (BIMSTEC), the Mekong Ganga Cooperation (MGC) and now the East Asia Summit.

* वर्ष 1991 में विशिष्ट रूप से इस नीति का निर्माण किए जाने के बाद से, मैं विशिष्ट इस लिए कहना चाहूंगा क्योंकि भारत की पूर्वोन्मुख नीति के तत्व पहले से ही हमारी विदेश नीति में विद्यमान हैं, भारत तथा दक्षिण पूर्व एशिया की क्षमताओं में लगातार हो रही वृद्धि के कारण इस नीति को एक विशेष स्वरूप मिला। भारत आसियान के साथ अपनी वार्ता भागीदारी तथा आसियान क्षेत्रीय मंच, बहु क्षेत्रीय तकनीकी सहयोग के लिए बंगाल की खाड़ी पहल (बिम्सटेक), मीकांग गंगा सहयोग (एमजीसी) और अब पूर्व एशिया शिखर सम्मेलन जैसे मंचों के जरिए आसियान और दक्षिण पूर्व एशिया के साथ सक्रिय रूप से अपने रचनात्मक कार्यकलापों को बढ़ावा देता रहा है।
