1. The Swatantryaveer Savarkar Seva Kendra (SSSK) had as early as mid-1990s corresponded directly with the Office of the Mayor of Marseilles requesting for allocation of land for the installation of the memorial.

However, organization such as the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Seva Kendra (SSSK), Swatantryaveer Savarkar Madhyavarti Rashtriya Prabodhan Sanstha (SSMRPS), the Hindu Jana Jagruthi Samiti (HJJS) and others have taken up the issue of land allocation for the construction of Veer Savarkar’s memorial / statute in Marseilles, France.
