1. In order to streamline, liberalize and ease the process of issue of passport, the Ministry of External Affairs has taken a number of steps in the realm of passport policy which is expected to benefit the citizens of India applying for a passport.

विदेश मंत्रालय ने पासपोर्ट जारी करने की प्रक्रिया को सरल, उदार तथा आसान बनाने के लिए पासपोर्ट नीति के अंतर्गत कई उपाय किए हैं जिससे उम्मीद है कि पासपोर्ट हेतु आवेदन करने वाले भारतीय नागरिकों को लाभ मिलेगा।

2. Reforms are afoot to liberalize the Indian economy through faster decision-making and cut through red-tape, relaxation of labour laws, and liberalization of foreign investment norms in critical sectors of the economy like defence, railways, insurance and construction, and take up GST next year.

तेजी से निर्णय लेने और लालफीताशाही में कटौती, श्रम कानूनों में ढील तथा अर्थव्यवस्था के महत्वपूर्ण क्षेत्रों जैसे कि रक्षा, रेलवे, अवसंरचना एवं निर्माण में विदेशी निवेश के मानदंडों में उदारीकरण तथा अगले साल से जी एस टी शुरू करने के माध्यम से भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था का उदारीकरण जोरों पर है।

3. In order to further improve and liberalize Police Verification procedure for passport issuance, the Government has decided that henceforth normal passport applications of all first time applicants furnishing Aadhaar, Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC), Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card and an affidavit in the format of Annexure-I will be processed on Post-Police Verification basis, enabling faster issue of passport, without payment of any additional fees, subject to successful online validation of Aadhaar number.

पासपोर्ट जारी किए जाने के लिए पुलिस सत्यापन प्रक्रिया में सुधार करने तथा उसे और उदार बनाने के क्रम में सरकार ने यह निर्णय लिया है कि आधार, मतदाता पहचान पत्र (ईपीआईसी), स्थायी खाता सं. (पीएएन) तथा अनुबंध-I के प्रपत्र में शपथ-पत्र के साथ पहली बार आवेदन करने वाले सामान्य पासपोर्ट आवेदकों को अतिशीघ्र पासपोर्ट जारी किए जाने के लिए उनके आवेदन पर बिना किसी अतिरिक्त शुल्क के पश्च- पुलिस सत्यापन आधार पर कार्रवाई की जाएगी, बशर्ते उनकी आधार संख्या का सफल ऑनलाइन वैधीकरण हो जाता है।

4. In order to further improve and liberalize Police Verification procedure for passport issuance, the Ministry announced on 25 January, 2016 that normal passport applications of all first time applicants furnishing Aadhaar, Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC), Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card and an affidavit in the prescribed format that no criminal proceedings were pending against the applicant will be processed on Post-Police Verification basis, enabling faster issue of passport, without payment of any additional fees.

पासपोर्ट जारी करने हेतु पुलिस जांच प्रक्रिया में सुधार करने तथा इसे अधिक उदार बनाने के लिए मंत्रालय ने 25 जनवरी, 2016 को घोषणा की है कि पहली बार सामान्य पासपोर्ट हेतु आवेदन करने वाले जिन आवेदकों ने आधार कार्ड, मतदाता फोटो पहचानपत्र, स्थायी लेखा संख्या (पीएएन) कार्ड और निर्धारित प्रपत्र में यह शपथपत्र दिया हो कि उस आवेदक के विरुद्ध कोई भी आपराधिक कार्यवाही लंबित नहीं है, उनके आवेदन पर पुलिस द्वारा बाद में सत्यापन किए जाने के आधार पर कार्रवाई की जाएगी, जिससे पासपोर्ट जारी करने की प्रक्रिया में तेजी आएगी तथा इसके लिए कोई अतिरिक्त शुल्क नहीं लिया जाएगा।

* पासपार्ट जारी करने के लिए पुलिस सत्यापन प्रक्रिया में और सुधार करने एवं उदार बनाने के उद्देश्य से सरकार ने निर्णय लिया है कि आधार, चुनावी फोटो पहचान पत्र (ई पी आई सी), स्थाई खाता संख्या (पैन) कार्ड तथा अनुबंध 1 के फार्मेट में हलफनामा प्रस्तुत करने वाले पहली बार आवेदन करने वाले सभी आवेदकों के पासपोर्ट के लिए सामान्य आवेदनों की अब से पुलिस सत्यापन पश्चात आधार पर आधार नंबर की सफल आनलाइन पुष्टि के अधीन अतिरिक्त शुल्क के भुगतान के बगैर प्रोसेस किया जाएगा।
