1. Concerning him, Jehovah said: “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man agreeable to my heart, who will do all the things I desire.”

2. In him, the youngest son of Jesse, Jehovah had found “a man agreeable to his heart” and had taken him “from following the flock to become a leader” over Israel.

यिशै का यह सबसे छोटा बेटा छुटपन में भेड़-बकरियाँ चराया करता था, तब यहोवा ने गौर किया वह “उसके मन के अनुसार है।” फिर उसने उसे “इसराएल का प्रधान” ठहराया।

3. God chose David, the youngest of eight brothers, for special service and said of him: “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man agreeable to my heart, who will do all the things I desire.”

परमेश्वर ने आठ भाइयों में से सबसे छोटे, दाऊद को एक ख़ास सेवा के लिए चुना और उसके बारे में कहा: “मुझे एक मनुष्य यिशै का पुत्र दाऊद, मेरे मन के अनुसार मिल गया है, वही मेरी सारी इच्छा पूरी करेगा।”
